Stan Silverman

Stan helped build the field itself, chairing SIOP's first three annual conferences. He pioneered research on workplace arrogance, and across five decades he has bridged academia and consulting, advising leaders at Fortune 500 companies. Stan co-developed the Workplace Arrogance Scale (WARS), a tool to identify arrogant managers before they damage teams. Its findings link arrogance to lower performance, intelligence and self-esteem. As Dean, he also built an early college high school with Akron Public Schools, now a state-recognized School of Promise.
