Dr. Maya Shankar

Maya founded and chaired the White House Behavioral Science Team, using research on human behavior to improve public policy. A former Juilliard violinist turned cognitive scientist, she now studies how people navigate change and reinvent themselves. She served as a senior policy advisor in the Obama White House and was appointed the first behavioral science advisor to the United Nations. She went on to lead behavioral science teams at Google, and her podcast was named Apple's Best Show of the Year 2021.
