As Director of Psychometrics, Liberty has shaped how Microsoft validates technical skills since 2007. She is a leading voice on using technology and AI to rethink how skills are measured, from new item types to open-book exams. She is responsible for making sure the assessments in the Microsoft Technical Certification program are valid and reliable measures of the skills they are meant to evaluate. In August 2023, she announced Microsoft's shift to open-book certification exams, a move that brought exams closer to how professionals actually work.
