Xobin HR Awards 2026

Anita Williams Woolley, Ph.D.

Anita pioneered the science of collective intelligence, showing that a team's performance depends less on individual brilliance than on how members collaborate. Her landmark 2010 Science paper has since been cited in thousands of publications. As PI of the CI-Lab@CMU, she leads DARPA- and NSF-funded research on how AI can strengthen human collaboration. This includes a $2.8 million DARPA grant studying team collective intelligence and theory of mind in human-machine interaction. She also served as Associate Dean of Research at Tepper (2022 to 2024).
