In 2022 alone more than 1000 tech companies around the globe laid off over 1,54,000 workers. On the other hand, the trend of layoffs has continued into the new year. Over 220 companies have reportedly sacked 68,000+ tech workers in 2023 alone. In the end, that’s just one side of the coin. Certain retail and tech companies continue to hire. So, this situation has given rise to a rare phenomenon. After all, it’s probably the first time in a decade that the supply of talent is larger than the demand in market. On the other hand, there are many tech companies who are still hiring for their job roles.
